Multiple Projects Multiple Teams

Format Title Mba Capstone: Strategic Consulting Engagement
Format Description
The Ferris State University MBA Capstone is a high-impact, team-based consulting experience designed to simulate a professional strategy consulting engagement. In this format, organizations present a real-world business challenge, and MBA students are organized into teams to analyze the problem and develop actionable, evidence-based recommendations.

Students apply advanced frameworks in strategic planning, competitive analysis, and organizational evaluation to diagnose complex issues and identify opportunities for growth, innovation, or operational improvement. Over the course of the engagement, teams conduct in-depth research, evaluate strategic alternatives, and develop clear recommendations supported by data and structured analysis.

Multiple student teams may work on the same challenge, allowing organizations to benefit from diverse perspectives, approaches, and solution pathways. Each team operates independently, providing a range of insights that can inform decision-making.

The experience is structured to minimize time burden on the organization while maximizing value. Students engage with a designated project contact through key milestones—including kickoff, check-ins, and final presentations—and deliver professional-grade outputs designed for executive-level review.
